World Day for Farmed Animals

Farmed Animals, the ones we eat,
live horrible lives and die horrible deaths
October 2nd is International World Farmed Day
and FARM Farm Animals Rights Movement
organizes the event Fast Against Slaughter
in solidarity to the innocent animals who
die horribly to the hands of humans.

Why fast? Because farmed animals,
on their way to the slaughterhouses
are denied to drink water or eat any food,
for 24 hrs and up to 3 to 5 days!

The animals you eat, have starved
and had being thirsty and horrified!

So please, stop eating animals
and pledge to Fast Against Slaughter
so you can understand how food comes to your plate.

Learn compassion. Stop Eating Animals. Be Vegan.

Hector Crow. The first of the gang to die?

One of my dear dear friends crows died today
or I think he died today, early this morning.
The crows live around my office
I feed them every morning during week days
This morning I found his body.
It was so heartbreaking, to see his black little legs
his black feathered shinny body lifeless on the grass.

Was it a hawk that killed him?
Was he poisoned? Not sure why I got this idea.

Just yesterday or 2 days ago,
I saw the gang (murder) of 5 flying around!
And today, there is only 4 left.

These crows know me very well,
they come closer and fly over my head when they see me
specially if I am wearing my red sunglasses,
they like me wearing them,
some times they fly so close to my head,
I get a little afraid...
I feed them raw cashews and peanuts,
they have been my friends for years now.

I think one died before.
But I am not sure if it was the same murder.
I always recognize one of them that a
bald part on the neck, he seems older...

But in honor of this L.A. classic Morrissey song
I title the post like this
The First of the Gang to Die.
and I name my dead crow friend, Hector.

Good bye Hector,
your beautiful blackness crossing fast
against the blue skies, will be so missed
your loud cawing calling me will be no long.
You stole my heart away.

Rest in Peace, Hector, the crow.
Hector, the first of the crow gang to die
Hector black beautiful legs, lifeless
The rest of the crow gang (murder), this morning, not far from Hector's body
Crow murder saying good bye as I go back in the office

Morrissey's List of the Lost

I have listened, cried, smiled,
suffered, healed, hoped, loved,
forgotten, remembered and enjoyed so many times
in life through Morrissey's songs,
so I am truly excited to read them soon in
book form. My book won't be here for a while
as it is shipping from the UK.

Taken from True-To-You.Net
Morrissey's novel List of the Lost
is published this Thursday, 24 September, by Penguin Books (UK).
List of the Lost is available in paperback and ebook formats.

Morrissey has explained:
"The theme is demonology ... the left-handed path of black magic. It is about a sports relay team in 1970s America who accidentally kill a wretch who, in esoteric language, might be known as a Fetch ... a discarnate entity in physical form. He appears, though, as an omen of the immediate deaths of each member of the relay team. He is a life force of a devil incarnate, yet in his astral shell he is one phase removed from life. The wretch begins a banishing ritual of the four main characters, and therefore his own death at the beginning of the book is illusory."

International Day of Peace, Stop Eating Animals!

#‎InternationalDayofPeace ‪#‎PeaceDay #GoVegan
1/2 of my friends spent last night
rescuing chickens from the horrible sacrifice of Kapparot.
The other half of my friends probably spent it
eating fried chickens and chickens wings.
Please before eating another animal, question yourself
and your heart, why are you doing this? Is it habit?
Is it because you never picture how animals die and suffer?
Please come to the compassionate side!
Humans and animals can live together in peace.
We must stop eating the other inhabitants of
our planet if we want true peace!

Save little water, or a lot of water!

You can save a little bit of water
[short showers, not watering your lawn, a brick in your toilet]
 or
you can save A LOT of water, and a lot of animal assassinations

Diet and Climate Change or Meat Is Heat

Dr. Michael Greger from NutritionFacts.org:

"While epidemics of chronic disease are currently by far our leading causes of death, global warming is considered a looming public health threat. How can we eat to combat dietary diseases and greenhouse gas emissions at the same time?"

Please take a look at this important video:

Now get a veggie burger instead of a cow burger,
do it for your health, for the animals, and for the planet!

11,000 ear tags

"11,000 ear tags”.
A haunting image representing the animals killed in a single day at one slaughterhouse — 11,000 minds, 11,000 identities, 11,000 biographies, erased from existence and pulped into meat every single day.
"We are surrounded", wrote J. M. Coetzee, "by an enterprise of degradation, cruelty, and killing which rivals anything the Third Reich was capable of, indeed dwarfs it, in that ours is an enterprise without end, self-regenerating, bringing rabbits, rats, poultry, livestock ceaselessly into the world for the purpose of killing them”.

#MeatIsMurder I am sure you can find something else to eat.
I have, for years now, it is not hard, it just takes a bit compassion, and common sense.
Eartags  of animals killed in a 1 single day at 1 slaughterhouse.

SeaWorld set the slaves free!

I have been to so many anti-SeaWorld protests I have lost count...
Also to the beautiful "Light Brigades"
where we form words with led lights letters
to be held on freeway overpasses!
I love this form of activism!
my dear friend Ellen Ericksen is the organizer
I help her getting the materials and posters there
we arrive about 1 hr earlier than other activists
and listen to the quiet streets, I always wonder if
I would listen to the cry of help coming from the
captive orcas, dolphins, penguins, sea lions, and other prisoners.
I prefer to speak for Dolphins and Sea Lions, as everybody else focuses on orcas
Me, wearing some strange sunglasses, and my dear friend Mary Peifer

San Diego Light Brigade, a beautiful and great form of activism!

Committed activists outside SeaWorld San Diego demanding Animal Liberation!
My first Light Brigade encouraging people to watch Black Fish I was the #4!
Me with activists, again a Dolphin sign.
Me and dear friend and partner 'in crime' Ellen Ericksen who organizes SW protests in SD
Imagine my joy and gratitude
when I saw beloved Morrissey's band wearing SeaWorld Sucks
t-shirts at his magnificent sold-out-instantly concert this past
August 20, 2015 in San Diego.
Thank you beautiful Morrissey and your band for speaking against SeaWorld!
Thank you Morrissey and your band, for always speaking for animals!
Now my heart is fuller knowing the animals
have your wit, your pen, and your heart on their side.

Now My Heart is Full from the night I saw beautiful Morrissey in San Diego.
I have two big wishes, to see all the animals free and to see again one day
this talented big-hearted beautiful man sing live again!

Save Water, Eat Plants!

I am proud and thankful to be part of the Truth or Drought team
I design many of the graphics, the leaflets and lawn signs

lawn sign design, so many people in California got our signs!
I am so humbled and thankful for all the people displaying our lawn sing on the front yards!
I do this as a volunteer on my free time,
not that I have much as I work full time as a graphic designer
but since I became an activist for the animals
I truly enjoy working on graphics or talking to people
about not eating animals, or using them on any abusive way
or going to protests...
just as the other members or Truth or Drought
we all volunteer our 'free' time...
we are a small group (mainly 3 people, lately 2 others are helping too)
we created this group to open people's eyes
to the fact that animal agriculture is causing the
devastating water shortages in California (and the planet)
All of our research is fully sourced by scientific research!
Here the latest graphic I created under Lorelei Plotczyk's supervision
and her superb research work. She writes and researches all the
graphics for T or D. I only make them a visual reality.

It is plain and simple: We (the entire planet) are running out of water. Animal agriculture uses a LOT of water and creates all sort of environmental problems, and needless cruelty & suffering, for both animals & humans. We can eat the plant protein directly and save water, stop the suffering, and heal our planet. Nowadays you can find vegan hamburgers in every supermarket, they taste better than the 'real' thing too and are healthier, you can find chicken-less chicken, all sorts of non-dairy cheeses, you can find cow milk substitutes (or make your own), you can find vegan cakes, cupcakes, donuts, pies, pancakes, etc. etc. etc. So if you eat animals is only because you are OK with violence, cruelty and destroying the planet, see? Rescue dogs in 9/11

I have just arrived to the USA in late 2000
from hectic violent Mexico City which was MY city
but a man showed me a gun once and the city
was just getting impossible to live in...

San Diego appeared to me as a paradise beach city
quiet, calm, and for once, I worked just 2 blocks from
the apartment I was renting, very close to Balboa Park

I was very lucky and found a position as Creative Director
at the San Diego Blood Bank, at first, I didn't
appreciate the job... working at a non-profit
helping 'save lives', how arrogant I was...

but then it came the saddest morning of any September,
the TV was on while I was getting ready to go to work
the news this time, instead of cartoons, or and old b&w film...
I heard about a plane crash... nobody knew what happened
why a plane crashed into one of the twin towers?
and live I saw it... another plane crashed too!!
now, we know this is not an accident, is not a coincidence...
it is extreme violence and hate at its worst...

I ran to the Blood Bank, by the time I got there,
barely 20 minutes after the attack,
my boss at the community relations dept had issued
a press conference, calling all San Diego blood donors
to give blood in order to help the victims in New York City...

I will never forget the lines of donors surrounding the
building to help, for weeks, donor kept coming.
Strange how the worst in humanity,
woke up the best in humanity, strange twisted species we are

The San Diego Blood Bank was the 1st blood bank to
help the victims of NYC...

And today, I remember all those dogs what we barely saw
on TV or read about, the most selfless species and the closest
to us cruel humans, here this wonderful article and
picture of real heroes, the ones that only get paid with a pet
a smile and love, selfless tender creatures
today I write and remember the rescue dogs of 9/11.

Bretagne, Last Known Living 9/11 Search & Rescue Dog Honored With Dream Day

I am sure she wasn't afraid, as dogs are pure love and will do anything to help!

Heroes on four legs, with fur and tails
Peace, peace love, love.
Never war, never murder.
Please humans stop killing each other.
Please stop eating the animals!
Let's all species of this planet unite and help each other.
Not kill and eat each other.

Donuts and LPs

Today is a good Friday!
I am going to Moncai vegan tonight
and will get donuts
[a vegan donut, because why have a cruel donut, when you can have a kind donut?]
And I will be buying the new Low LP Ones and Sixes
From a local record store Off The Record or M-Theory
[support your local records stores, they are disappearing!]

Low's new album: Ones and Sixes

'Sample' song: What Part of Me?
What part of me don't you know? What part of me don't you own?

Literary Gato Strikes Again: Morrissey

Herr Gato has a great taste in books!
He picks distinguished yet unusual authors
His latest choice is Morrissey's Autobiography.
A superb read where the iconic singer
and brilliant, compassionate man
writes with no rules and complete honesty,
as he lives his live: no chapters, no index,
strangely and deliciously long paragraphs
that begin making you want to cry, laugh by the 3rd sentence
and cry again. As artful as his songs!

Morrissey protects and speaks for animals, Herr Gato knows it and thanks Moz.

As have chronicled before, Herr Gato has chosen authors
such as Kate Chopin and her book The Awakening
and legendary Paul Bowles and his Let It Come Down
Herr Gato gas gone as far as reaching Furry Nirvana
with Buddhism classic Autobiography of a Yogi
by Paramhansa Yogananda.
Herr Gato likes feminists banned books, great!

Herr Gato loves dark bleak set in Morocco novel!

Reaching Nirvana, the furry way
Oh I love you my Herr Gato, who arrived from a dusty alley
to teach me with your superb literary choices,
yet no doubt, Morrissey's pick is the closest to my heart.

Life Without Buildings!
New Town!
Great band!
Great song!

Meat obsession, Milk obsession

"We are devastating our health, our planet...
with our suicidal obsession with animal protein."
"Animal agriculture, including dairy (and all dairy),
is destroying our planet."
