Arbor Day

Each day, a person who eats a vegan diet saves:
30 sq ft of forested land and 20 lbs CO2 equivalent.

Thank you Tofurky for this post!

Earth Day 2016

From Vegan Street:
"This is our home: Earth Day should be 365 days a year. Cutting out animal products and meat is a massive step in reducing your ecological footprint. It is a multi-step process for most people and we are here to support you. How can you lessen your dependency on animal foods? Cutting out dairy, shifting to one plant-based day a week, stopping bringing animal foods into your home: all are significant steps to bringing your actions in alignment with your convictions about protecting the Earth and her inhabitants. Successful longtime vegans all started somewhere...where can you start? We are here for you today and every day."

eggs = cruelty

the way eggs are 'produced' nowadays
is far from the picturesque idea of happy farms
industrial production of eggs is one of the
cruelest industries to animals...
these hens "live" for years in despicable conditions

and all for a food that makes us so sick!
a single egg contains 3 times the amount of cholesterol
a human needs, we are dying of heart attacks,
of obesity, of hypertension, diabetes, and we are
torturing billions of animals, is about time we
change the way we eat, we need to evolve!

Watch the heartbreaking Mercy for Animals investigation:
The Video the Rotten Egg Industry Doesn’t Want You to See

Every single dish you prepare with eggs can be made with
these simple replacements, take a look at this chart!

There is even Vegan Eggnog (Vegan Eierpunsch) and it is fantastic!

Balboa Park walks and my mom

My mom spent a couple of months with me in San Diego
she was taking care of me while recovering from surgery
We used to take long walks to Balboa Park.
I miss her and our morning walks!

I am very lucky that my mom is 99% vegan
she occasionally eats fish or some cheese
but since I was a girl, she always ate veggies,
salads, juices, never really liked eating animals
when she is with me is 100% vegan and when she
goes back to Autlan, she is 99% vegan
she loves soy milk, tofu, beans, and ALL fruits & veggies
I think my transition to veganism was much easier
because the way we always ate at home.
My beautiful mom
