San Diego Botanical Garden

actually in Encinitas,
spent a wonderful day with my mom.

Glad I posted before the end of June,
most come back dear blog.

The San Diego Botanical Garden
is a beautiful place!
I dreamed of the strangely beautiful
African trees, the exotic plants from Hawaii
and the strength of New Zealand leaves.

I dream of walking there again!

Take Extinction Off Your Plate

Taken from: http://www.takeextinctionoffyourplate.com/
"Meat production is one of the main drivers of environmental degradation globally, and the crisis is rapidly growing worse. Production of beef, poultry, pork and other meats tripled between 1980 and 2010 and will likely double again by 2020. This ever-increasing meat consumption in a world of more than 7 billion people is already taking a staggering toll on wildlife, habitat, water resources, air quality and the climate. And Americans eat more meat per capita than almost anyone else. By eating less or no meat, we can take extinction off our plates and improve our own health along with the health of the planet."

new and old

new home
older life

finally moved into the new home
still lingers the smell and the keys from the older home
a hint of sadness of leaving the old home in my heart
yet the warmness of the new one dissolves it every new night
a new hope, a new beginning, but without appreciating
the old days...

the only regret, the plants left behind
those that i planted from small pots into the ground
that so widely spread and i cannot bring with me
the big old palm tree, that saw me so many times smile
and a couple cry too
i will miss you my friend, most of all, and the little purple flowers
of the bush around who i planted too

if i could bring you with me and water you again
i apologize for leaving you back, i will miss you my leafy friends...

macetas May 1st

tonight, may 1st
out of the blue i got this weird nice energy
after the gym (this doesn't sound like me... gym?)
well, after the gym
about 7.20pm
i realized i wanted to go to home depot
one of my favorite stores!
i can get lost there for hours
ah, building materials, wood & carpentry stuff

but i went to the garden section this time...

i got 2 little plants w/flowers over the weekend
and i needed the "macetas" (containers, in spanish)
and some soil... the earth is made out of soil!
the natural *floor* of our beloved planet is soil!

yet... you have to pay $6.49 at home depot for 16 QT
i merrily paid, and got the 2 macetas too

came home and planted these 2 guys
my new friends!
hope they behave OK and that they like their new space

i think i have a case of full moon/flower fever?
& but it was a nice way to start this month
