Life imperfect momemts, mosquitos!

To love this life.
In its most imperfect moments...
Mosquitoes!
---
The beauty of life is in loving even its most imperfect moments.
----
To love life's imperfect little moments.
-----
Sometimes I feel that enjoying life is being thankful for even the imperfect moments.

San Diego Festival of Books

The 1st SD Festival of Books was a little great event! Lots of authors, local independent bookstores and I scored these lovely books! I wish I had more time to talk to local authors. But I already volunteered for Mercy for Animals 4 hours before I got to look around.
But I did meet Drew Andrews at the Verbatim booth. He signed his first novel (horror short tales) for me, I was gone by the time I read on his book that he is a local musician who has played with The Album Leaf and other bands.

The Vegan recipes books with Morrissey and Nick Cave are funny, recipes are based on song titles, my favorite is Moz arguing with the Cookie Monster over a vegan cookie :D
Can't wait to read David Lynch's Catching the Big Fish on working on film projects.
The James Patterson was for my neighbor Mike
.
I highly recommend you to visit Verbatim books in North Park!

Also I volunteered with Mercy for Animals! We did Paid-Per-View video viewing.
Where we pay people $1 to watch a video on Factory Farming and how Animals suffer and are killed for food :( I do hope more people become vegan after watching the video, many are shocked!

It was a great Saturday in San Diego!

Del Mar Racetrack Kills Horses

This was a good weekend!
I got to protest #DelMar racetrack, where horses beaten & abused,
and killed for $$$. See my dear vegan activists friends.
Have great vegan meals (Jimbo's & Plantpower Fast food in Encinitas.
And read books & magazines + tv.
If you don't think Horse Racing is cruel, read this article:

The year of the orange covers.

The year of the orange covers.
Bonus points if you know how The Underground Railroad (book) on slavery in the USA is linked to Kim Gordon's biographic book Girl in a Band. They are both great books. The Underground Railroad by brilliant Colson Whitehead should be a required reading in American schools.

OK,
here is how they relate...

Sonic Youth is on the Acknowledgements of The Underground Railroad, Kim Gordon was one of the wonderful 4 members of Sonic Youth, one of my favorite bands ever. Worth mentioning that David Bowie and Prince are on the acknowledgements too.

Friend and neighbor Mike

My neighbor Mike has been really sick since Friday.
My mom and I had to call the paramedics.
He has pneumonia and I feared for his life.
He has no family and just 1 friend apart from me.
All weekend and Monday night I thought he would die.
He didn’t want to eat at all.
Yesterday, after I saw the beautiful page
from the calendar my friend Izabela gave me,
about Miracles, I prayed for him all day at work.
When I went to see him yesterday evening,
he was much better!
He ate solid food and smiled
at the stuffed Gato I got him.
I do believe in miracles and the power of positive thinking.
So thankful he is OK.
Can’t wait to see him again tonight
to see how much he has recovered
while I am at work.

Glad I posted before the end of June,

The San Diego Botanical Garden
is a beautiful place!
I dreamed of the strangely beautiful
African trees, the exotic plants from Hawaii
and the strength of New Zealand leaves.

I dream of walking there again!

Die deutschen Leute wissen

Deutsche Leute zum Veganer werden!
Das ist sehr gut :)

The current winner in the race to make vegan food products? Germany.

This may come as a surprise to anyone who’s gone to a German bar and tried to order a meatless meal, only to end up gnawing sadly on a giant pretzel.
Germany produced 18 percent of the world’s new vegan creations in 2016 — more than any other country, CNN reports.

Please read the entire article:

Vielen Dank Deutschland, Ich Liebe Sie!
