Almonds Are Not The Problem, Eating Animals Is

This is the latest graphic I designed with Lorelei's research
for our grassroots campaign Truth or Drought
where we make the connection between animal agriculture
and the California (and world-wide) droughts
The meat and dairy industry have created a campaign
to vilify almonds, calling them the #1 water consumers...
but of course almonds are NOT the problem
Animal Agriculture is... there are several articles online
where you can check these numbers.
And our sources are clear...

And from an ethical point of view, remember
almonds don't suffer when separated from their mothers
so humans can drink their milk (my homemade almond milk)
nor they suffer for years while living in horrible factory farms
nor scream in agony & pain when being slaughtered

So eat almonds, they are good for you,
drink almond milk, almond ice-cream,
have an Amaretto, but please
Do Not Eat Animals or their secretions
that is what is destroying the planet,
and killing billions of innocent beings.

There are some things money can't buy (like water when it's gone).
For everything else, there's veganism.

Save little water, or a lot of water!

You can save a little bit of water
[short showers, not watering your lawn, a brick in your toilet]
 or
you can save A LOT of water, and a lot of animal assassinations
[Going vegan!]

Save Water, Eat Plants!

I am proud and thankful to be part of the Truth or Drought team
I design many of the graphics, the leaflets and lawn signs

lawn sign design, so many people in California got our signs!
I am so humbled and thankful for all the people displaying our lawn sing on the front yards!
I do this as a volunteer on my free time,
not that I have much as I work full time as a graphic designer
but since I became an activist for the animals
I truly enjoy working on graphics or talking to people
about not eating animals, or using them on any abusive way
or going to protests...
just as the other members or Truth or Drought
we all volunteer our 'free' time...
we are a small group (mainly 3 people, lately 2 others are helping too)
we created this group to open people's eyes
to the fact that animal agriculture is causing the
devastating water shortages in California (and the planet)
All of our research is fully sourced by scientific research!
Here the latest graphic I created under Lorelei Plotczyk's supervision
and her superb research work. She writes and researches all the
graphics for T or D. I only make them a visual reality.

It is plain and simple: We (the entire planet) are running out of water. Animal agriculture uses a LOT of water and creates all sort of environmental problems, and needless cruelty & suffering, for both animals & humans. We can eat the plant protein directly and save water, stop the suffering, and heal our planet. Nowadays you can find vegan hamburgers in every supermarket, they taste better than the 'real' thing too and are healthier, you can find chicken-less chicken, all sorts of non-dairy cheeses, you can find cow milk substitutes (or make your own), you can find vegan cakes, cupcakes, donuts, pies, pancakes, etc. etc. etc. So if you eat animals is only because you are OK with violence, cruelty and destroying the planet, see? Truth or Drought

I have been collaborating with the founder of
Truth or Drought, today another graphic designer
created this meme, regarding Jerry Brown's comment
on the state of the California drought.

Killing animals is finishing the planet

"Livestock species contribute directly and indirectly to deforestation, water pollution, air pollution, greenhouse gases, global warming, desertification, erosion and human obesity, and virtually anywhere you go in the world, the damage done by ruminants, pigs and poultry, and those who grow feed crops for them, is visible on the land. Dry and scrubby Greece, once a nation of woodlands, has gone to the goats. In Brazil, forests are falling before the advance of soybean fields, cultivated largely as beef fodder. In New Zealand, the banks of wild streams are frequently found trampled and muddied by grazers."

California's worst drought in history

Want to conserve water?
Change the way you eat!
Countries have been fighting over oil
for the past decades... soon,
we will be fighting over water!

"Of the foods produced in the Golden State, the thirstiest by far are those that are derived from animals. Household impact is a trickle compared to the flood of water needed to produce meat, dairy, and eggs, especially when compared to plant foods. For example, a study at Cornell University found that producing one pound of animal protein requires about 100 times more water than producing one pound of grain protein. Another study adds to the overflow of evidence finding that the amount of water needed to produce one pound of beef is almost 1,600 gallons, compared to just 102 gallons for a pound of wheat."

Please read this complete article and learn
what using animals for food is doing
to our environment and very low water reserves
