Quarantine songs 2

It has been a quiet relaxing Sunday at home.
Today, no outside world, well, a little...
Walked the cats on the courtyard, got a bit of sunshine
And plant-staring, which is the best for the mind and the soul.

I am amazed how fast time is going by...
I have been working from home since March 16.
And days are passing FAST...
My neighbor said time is really slow for her,
but she's not working.
I seem to be even busier at home than at the office.

But today, I slowed down.
I meditated a little with this wonderful meditation
by Sujantra from Pilgrimage of the Heart.

And Qigong quick video.
And a 50 minute online yoga class.

Even though this is a scary time for humanity.
I love that our planet seems to be thriving!
When I hear the birds, and see the flowers,
This M83 intro plays in my head...

"Sun is shining Birds are singing Flowers are growing Clouds are looming And I am flying"...

That will be the quarantine song of today:

Frau Kitty walking on the courtyard

My neighbor thinks these plants are just 'weeds' and they are, but they bloom into beautiful little flowers, soon!

I am most thankful for this wonderful tree!

Bird flu

All those beautiful chickens
we so horribly treat in factory farms
might come back and kill humans..
Karma!!
Bird flu is reaching pandemic levels
Humans will pay for the murdering

crows

Sad day, there are 2 crows around the office,
remember the crows back from 2006?
not sure if they are the same ones, probably
often I leave them Ezekiel back slices of bread
and left over fruit.
Friday morning I only saw 1 crow and was calling desperate,
making loud noises, never saw the other crow coming.
Friday evening, I saw a 'murder of crows',
crows get together to mourn a bird lost from the flock.
[watch this great PBS documentary on crows]

Today there was only 1 crow again.
He came when he saw me, they recognize me,
I left some apple for him,
I am afraid he lost his couple RIP crow #2
pict from 2006, older post on crows around the office
Animals Grieve, they have feelings,
they mourn their families and have complex connections.

All those animals living in factory farms,

chickens, pigs, cows, or the ones in the so-called 'humane' farms
know when a member of their family is dead.

Please stop eating the animals,

it is NOT necessary for you to survive and to be a healthy person
(on the contrary), don't make them go through this time

how to film a mocking bird

on Tuesday i arrived home to the tune
of this lovely bird

i have a bird feeder
mostly visited by mourning doves
blue jays and some elusive singing birds

but on Tuesday, this little guy
was giving us a concert! please listen to him...

now, the movie is bad quality
so while he sung
i grabbed my photo-camera
and photographed him too

and i wasn't the only one
listening, here some of his vivacious public

now, i assume he's a mocking bird
because he sings in so many pretty styles!
but if you reading this know about birds
please let me know if you know what kind he is

also, it would be helpful is you knew...
how to film a mocking bird!

the first one has to be about birds

finally the first post of the year!

sharing the good things of the last & few new days
like the little view from our table at the
Fish Market's Top of the Market
restaurant, where my mom & i
celebrated our New Year's Eve dinner
wonderful view with excellent food

and this 'ambiance' tune courtesy
of one of my preferred musicians
mister Brian Eno, Emerald And Stone from his new album
[one of my Christmas gifts]
Small Craft On A Milk Sea

and a little poem by Emily Dickinson
and the row of mourning doves
waiting for me to fill the feeder

and i can only hope that this year is
full of birds, and lovely sounds,
and good food, great views, and
good loving company
for all of you, and for me...

A Bird came down the Walk (328)

A Bird came down the Walk—
He did not know I saw—
He bit an Angleworm in halves
And ate the fellow, raw,

And then he drank a Dew
From a convenient Grass—
And then hopped sidewise to the Wall
To let a Beetle pass—

He glanced with rapid eyes
That hurried all around—
They looked like frightened Beads, I thought—
He stirred his Velvet Head

Like one in danger, Cautious,
I offered him a Crumb
And he unrolled his feathers
And rowed him softer home—

Than Oars divide the Ocean,
Too silver for a seam—
Or Butterflies, off Banks of Noon
Leap, plashless as they swim.

mister Blue Jay

so this is one of the things
i feel i could miss from my old house
although i am already planning
to put a bird feeder at my new place

[click on the photos to enlarge, it's worth, he's a pretty guy]

ahh mister Beautiful Blue Jay here
i looove their mocking sounds
so loud and irreverent
and they are such beautiful elegant guys
of course they take dives at the cats
and people, they are a little too territorial
but wow! their blue feathers are some of the
loveliest shade of blues that nature can produce

and these Californian Jays are actually
Western Scrub Jays
beautiful moody guys

los gatos' nemeses

Sherlock Holmes had Professor Moriarty
Batman has The Joker (amongst others)

and it seems like everyone has a nemesis
in this paradoxical life
my friends Los Gatos have their own nemeses too!

herr Gato's nemeses are two mean Blue Jays
I have seen these 2 blue jays taking swooping dives
at poor herr Gato, one of them actually hit him on the head!
Gato just went "meeooowww"
and look all disconcerted after the hit
after a second dive, the Gato decided to run into the house...

I read online that this behavior is common on Blue Jays
they are very territorial birds and while they are nesting
they will 'attack' dogs, cats, and even humans! who
would come close to their nests, this is called "mobbing"
makes a lot of sense...
I have a bird feeder outside my house
surely they are nesting now and therefore the mobbing at
poor herr Gato, curiously enough, I haven't seen them
attacking frau Kitty nor me

here one of the Blue Jays, the feeder was full of other birds before
he arrived (mourning doves, finches, etc.) he screamed at all
the other birds so they all left and now he eats alone, as he likes it

now Frau Kitty's nemesis is a much dangerous one!
is a BIG female cat, who lives next door,
she comes around my home very often,
I have seen her since I moved here, years before
los Gatos arrival to this area
she sort of socializes with herr Gato,
dependingm on both their moods
they play or chase each other but sometimes
they do fight too...
but it's not the same with frau Kitty! whenever this big female cat
sees frau Kitty, they both start hissing right away, and it takes only
a few seconds for the mean big cat to attack her!
frau Kitty tends to fight back when herr Gato attacks her of plays tough
but she runs away from this cat right away!!
she knows it's no game and she's terrified of her
and surely the mean big gata
wants to shred frau Kitty to very small pieces
I am pretty sure it is 'cause they are both females
and since the bigger female cat has lived for a while in this territory
well, she feels the threat of frau Kitty's presence
I worry many times when frau Kitty goes outside
'cause this 'gata' really hates her and she's at least twice the size
of Frau Kitty, but frau Kitty is much faster, younger, and agile,
so she knows how to runaway from her...

here frau Kitty's nemesis drinking water outside my house
this photo is through a screen door

los gatos don't like to be at my house that much
specially herr Gato, he is more of an outdoor cat
but when their nemeses are around, they feel safer
behind the screen door

interesting how even in nature, enemies exist
i surely have a very dull life, since I cannot think of
a nemesis for myself... maybe in the past I've had a couple
but I guess not too hateful, since I can't recall one

oh wait!
maybe this girl i went to school with
i was in about 4th grade, her name was Cecilia,
she used to bug me at school all the time
she was older than me for a couple of years
so she wasn't in my class but i'd see her
at the end of the school days while
we waited for our parents to pick us up
and on recesses sometimes
she had a sister in my class, Alma,
who was actually my friend and unlike her mean sister
a really nice girl
i used to wear a lot of turtle necks 'cause i always had
a sore throat...
Cecilia used to seat next to me and then pull
the turtle neck of my sweater
all over my face and sort of shocked me!
i was a very shy girl so pretty much did nothing
but to swallow my range and sometimes cry...
I think Cecilia was my very 1st enemy,
up to this day, I remember
the frustration and horror of seeing Cecilia coming to get me

apart from that mexican bully girl I cannot
recall another one enemy

i wonder if you friends reading
have a nemesis in your life?
a real 'archenemy'?
doesn't have to be a person but also
could be a situation you dread
or a food you won't taste?
any intimidating fears?
if so, i'd like to hear your story
we could have a common web-blog-therapy
huh?

home or flying, morbid text

Some days you are in
Some day you are out
Matter of how you feel
Or of luck, I guess

Anyway
I was just thinking
Wondering
Where the servers of Gmail are at
And what if?
They all get hurt
All of my gmail conversations would be gone

Just like that one time
While working in Mexico City at the Hard Rock Café
When by mistake I re-formatted a whole hard-drive
From a Mac
Full of designs and information
Those were the days when back-ups weren’t as common
Just a dumb mistake
But a very strange sensation of liberation as well
The data that was driving me crazy
And that absorbed many hours of my attention
In a jiffy… gone!
How fragile is information
And life for that matter, even more…

Anyway, but there are these days
When you ask yourself
About your properties and states of material states
I mean, you move from cities
Some friends keep and stay
Some people in your life just come easy
and then easy go away
Some others, luckily, stay,
Same with some family members
Lovers and friends…
All changes
even the things that don't move
they change, because they don't
paradoxical or stupid
but it is true

But there’s always this hard-to-let go feeling
Always the lost
And the possessive character of humans
Among the metaphysical, metaphorical and/or tangible properties
Always hard seems to be to change
To permute into another phase of yourself

So as I wonder where are my almost 2 GB of gmails living in this world
[I think close to the San Francisco area is actually where Google lives, so I guess around there…] anyway
I wonder too,
How wonderful might be the final let go of death!
I mean, I worry about if there are scratches on my CDS
Or if my photos are too dark
Or too bright
Or if I wrote you the proper lines for you to know how much I care
Or if I made the changes to the catalog OK
Of it was a bad decision to skip the gym today…

But one day…
All won’t matter anymore
One day
Like it or not
I will have to let go
No more problems with the bills or the money
No plans, no worries if I feel fat or lean,
No worries if the sony is fully charged
Or if I owe the IRS some more cash
No worries of my Mexican past
Nor of my American present
Nor of the future, even less, of course!
Of the future
I guess there’s no future once you are dead
Hard to tell…

One day
Just like that
No more worries
No more checking e-mails
No more balancing out the color levels of the pix
No more buying gas for the automovil…
No more veggies no more meat
One day
Kaput and just like that

Wonder if they have heaven-web-mail up there
Or an inferno-intranet…
I will wait and then check
Too bad, I don’t think I can come back and tell…

There are days to fly
There are days to face home

sidewalks under construction

A man is building a little road
That road will serve many other men to walk on

While that man is building the road
He thinks of the benefit his work will bring

Yet one day, once the road is finished
He won’t have anything else to pass his seconds every day
Since the road is already built

Now is the job of the men walking that road?
To know what their walking through will be beneficial to…

This is not a religious parabola or anything like that
I just think of how I spent every second of my day
Some of my seconds are spent building something that I will use later
Some are spent in using those things I built before

At the end of the day
I just have seconds spent
I guess that is life
Spending the seconds in a ‘proper’ way…

Life’s passing
As I type
As you read…
As we breath
in and out...

I wish I could be in love one day again
With an unknown man that cares
For some of my seconds share
and for watching with me the crows cry

love is a good way to pass your life around
art such as... works also dignifies

crows cuervos

can’t tell why
but crows seem to be my favorite birds lately
and i am not into birds anyway

i just find them cool
with their lustrous shinny black coats
even in the summer

a reminiscence of being a the cure and depeche mode fans
not to mention sisters of mercy

i bet crows like to listen to the sisters of mercy
how can you be a crow? wear always black?
and not like the freaking sisters of mercy?
you must like them if you are a crow
therefore you have to be cool, eh?

probably hipster crows even like nin
and some other punk metal

then there is those sounds they make
that cooing that sounds so demanding
irreverent, little rude and impertinent

agggkkkk agggkkk they scream
for food and for your little
obviously-less-evolved-than-theirs-human attention

crows don’t like you
crows don’t like humans
and i bet somehow they consider us
minor species that they can use
since we leave everywhere trash and food leftovers
that they can eat
otherwise for them
we are disgraceful
with our naked skins without a lustrous black plumage
and our coward-like pitched voices

crows are neat
i miss seeing them lately
under the sun
against grass green
demanding for food
aggggkkkkk
agggggkkkkk
screaming
hiding
