Balboa Park walks and my mom

My mom spent a couple of months with me in San Diego
she was taking care of me while recovering from surgery
We used to take long walks to Balboa Park.
I miss her and our morning walks!

I am very lucky that my mom is 99% vegan
she occasionally eats fish or some cheese
but since I was a girl, she always ate veggies,
salads, juices, never really liked eating animals
when she is with me is 100% vegan and when she
goes back to Autlan, she is 99% vegan
she loves soy milk, tofu, beans, and ALL fruits & veggies
I think my transition to veganism was much easier
because the way we always ate at home.

adiós 2012

this was an interesting year
a good year
the first year in my new home
finding a more comfortable place at work
enjoyed spending time, mostly with these 3...
my mom, Herr Gato, and lovely Frau Kitty
reading books, listening to music
and mostly, living life...

i wish you all my blogger friends
the best for this 2013, and always
health, love, warmth of heart
and some little money, why not? too!

love you all who are around this blog!

now the infamous 3 from pictures
from these days...

December 2012 mom visit

my mom is visiting and we are having fun!
thanks to mister Smorg's recommendation
we went on Saturday to the Handel's Messiah
sing-a-long with the San Diego Master Chorale
it was lovely! (mainly 'cause I didn't sing)

and yesterday we went on a 3 hour walk
to Balboa Park, around and back

it's good to have a fun healthy mom
to walk with!

Beethoven, Buddha, and my mom

i've been a bit disconnected from the blog, the internet, etc.
my mom is visiting!
shortly after her arrival, we went to the Copley Symphony Hall
for a Beethoven Festival Piano concert
the program was Beethoven's
Coriolan Overture, Op.62, the Piano Concertos No. 1 and No. 2
it was a lovely evening indeed
although the pianist Yefim Bronfman was replaced by Orli Shaham
she did a good job, but i was looking forward to listen to Yefim
as he has great reviews
also was sad to miss mister Smorgthere
as we planned to meet him at the concert...
hopefully i can meet him soon!

my mom at Copley's, me on the reflection
it's an ugly picture,
but hey! photography is forbidden at Copley's!

and to close this little post
the Buddhist thought of the day:

Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.
