i try to eat mostly fresh foods
something i cook or take out
but oh these modern times
many times we have to rely
in quick fixes for food
surprisingly, some of the 'healthy'
frozen food is that one for kids!
like this Elmo Whole Grain Pizza
don't taste that bad, actually it's
pretty decent, and with 19 grams
of whole grain, not so bad for a
frozen dish
as for coffee, i buy whole beans
i grind them myself every morning
yet sometimes i am in a hurry
or i crave an early evening crave
for a foamy espresso
while in Germany i discovered this
amazing instant Espresso from Nestle
i can't find it in the US! and my second
bottle is coming to a close end..
too sad
but if you live in Europe
try it! it's great
of course a 'real' espresso is the best
but this one for an instant
tastes great! but add sugar
i usually don't add sugar to my coffee
aber diese Kaffee mit Zucker ja!!
as the label reads
sehr gut!

Hmm...that Elmo frozen pizza looks like a perfect example of what Michael Pollan would term "no food"...but I'd eat it...
Instant espresso, however=evil....
heh heh Dr. Jay, yeah i wasn't sure who Michael Pollan is, so i checked, thanks for throwing the name, he's in Food, Inc. too, great!! and yeah i feel even a little ashamed for the post, i brag about eating healthy and lately i haven't! at least i am trying to substitute for healthy crap, ha ha...
oh Dr. Jay if you knew, i haven't even practiced yoga lately, i am in bad shape and falling down, but not more No food for me and less crappy Coffee too heh heh, and to do some yoga this week, your page actually inspires me :D
Hallo Coffeegirl,
Being in Europe I could buy the stuff but unfortunately we are addicted to the Cappuccino or Wiener Kaffee. Sugar is already included and this in large quantities. Probably junk drink.
Hallo Pizzagirl,
Looks good, too. Right now Elisabeth is making one and part of the stuff coming out of the garden. At least the cherry tomatoes.
That pizza on your photo looks darn small. Is this American size. Big country, small pizza. Our's here are nearly three times as big. Recession pizza or Weight Watcher special with grain from happy fields?
Yes, life is great if you have and if you can.
Georg
The Espresso coffee sounds good; it's a pity we can't get it here :(
hallo herr Georg!!
dear Id!
and yes any instant coffee might fall into the category of junk, but there's from junk to junk, huh? some levels of junk are still drinkable... i've been working out less and having higher blood pressure, so i guess i have to limit my caffeine intake anyway... but can a spoonful of coffee kill you? am gonna drink one now, if there aren't any new posts, well, it worked ;) ha ha
as for the pizza size, well herr Georg, it's supposed to be for kids, so i guess the size is because of that... usually sizes in the US are really BIG, as our population has become too
isn't it paradoxical? that we humans actually get sick, not for the lack of food but for the excess of it??? i guess we are the only species, right?
and even more paradoxical, the other part of the population who is not sick for eating too much, is starving...
i bet we present such a strange case for the aliens watching us... some guys overeating and playing too much on one side of the planet, while the other half are killing each other and starving...
oh well, leave it all to humanity to screw things around ;)
Oooh! I like the look of that coffee. Have never tried that pizza, though. It's so cute! :o) I can really live with your diet, Berenice!
Though today I'm going to try out that new Shawarma shop that had just opened on Broadway between 5th and 6th. They have a sign upfront advertising a shawarma sandwich for $5.99. Will let you know if I survive to dine another day.
Happy weekend, good neighbor! :o)
hi dear mister Smorg!
how are you doing?? the very small Elmo's pizzas are for sale at Henry's :)
and how was your Shawarma sandwich? did you like it?
mister Smorg, they opened a new shop in Normal Heights, right by the sign, it's a mix of Vietnamese and Japanese food, they serve Pho, and Yakisoba too, i am looking forward to try it!
and please let me know if you are around Normal Heights! i'd like to meet you very much, i can also invite you some Pho from the new restaurant... that way if we both get sick, we can sue (the American way) heh heh
hope you are enjoying the unlike summer weather in San Diego, we live in paradise, huh? rather over-priced paradise but with very cool weather lately :D
Hola bella Bere,
The Shawarma sandwich was really good indeed! The place is called Oasis Mediterranean Restaurant on Broadway just a block east of Horton Plaza. I tried really hard to finish the thing but only managed half of it before feeling like a stuffed pig. I think I still like Sultan's Shawarma on 4th close to Heath Davis House better, taste-wise, but this new shop really gives you a lot of food for your money. :o)
Hey, I'd love to check out that new Pho place with you indeed. I'm a bit in between places right now, though (might be moving to a new pad this weekend or the weekend after. I can't seem to get a hold of the super today somehow). But you can always reach me at sdcmorg@yahoo.com :o)
Hope your weekend has started spectacularly! If I manage to get out of here early I might try to catch some Spanish guitar at that SD Symphony pops concert at the Embarcadero Marina Park - South. Keeping my fingers crossed. ;o)
