Good that you like to read dear Berenice. When i was young, i was reading all the time and i was feeling very good. Specially, when i started to write i felt much much better. Now, i don't write any more but i keep on suggesting to the people (instead of doing silly things) first to read and then to write (if they have the mind abilities to do that).

Books, movies and music are parts of Art and facts of Life. Art gives the Light! Don't forget it Berenice! My best wishes always to you...

(I am not very good in writting English but i hope that my comment is correct and you got it right)

Bonjour Berenice,

Some days ago I looked up several web pages about Paul Bowles, your newest discovery. Could be I'll follow you.

As to Mopple and her tribe, I am past the middle. I like it because this is a very inhabitual point of view.

At the same time I am reading the 3rd volume of Millenium but stopped, some days ago. Don't know really why.

Wish you a lot of good things.

dear Diatton, yes!! reading is a wonderful pleasure, on a prior post I ranted about the beauty of reading, and how it's the ultimate detachment from stress (at least for me) and Herr Georg here seemed to agree! and i do agree with you! writing is a great way to canalize one's energies, i used to write more before too, these days, i guess only my blog rants are my way of writing, but maybe i, and you too! should practice writing more often too, even in short ways as Haiku, etc. and indeed, almost any form of art is a pleasure for our souls... from a prior post on Simon Schama's TV program i leave you this quote:

"Art is the enemy of the routine, the mechanical and the humdrum. It stops us in our tracks with a high voltage jolt of disturbance; it reminds us of what humanity can do beyond the daily grind. It takes us places we had never dreamed of going; it makes us look again at what we had taken for granted."
~ Simon Schama

and btw Diatton! your English is GREAT, i did understand everything you write!

and to Herr Georg,

aww Herr Georg, isn't that a great book? i loved reading it, never boring, and those sheep personalities are quiet unique even the bad tempered black one Otello, what a gang!! i am really gald you are enjoying it...

as for Paul Bowles, give him a YES!!! i finished The Sheltering Sky a couple of days ago, some rather obscure passages, but never dull either!! he's one of those timeless writers who combines beautifully content & form... Paul Bowles is indeed a must read!

and those good wishes fly right back to you & Frau Elisabeth too, enjoy!

and thanks again to both for visiting my humble blog!
