what a great movie!
it has all the elements of an old-fashioned sci-fi movie
rather human & still taking place in space
full of that possibly impossible scientific
artifacts and rationalizations
the cast & acting rather good & fresh
the enterprise reproduced in style
with a bit story confusing, sure!
as any good sci-fi story... still great!
worth watching
you'll have good old fun at the movies again

It's definitely the Star Trek movie for people who aren't Trekkies...younger, cooler, sexier...and apparently the serious Trekkies are annoyed because they basically created an alternative universe for it, so don't have to go by anything that's happened in the previous movies and shows...which is totally cool with me...

hola Dr. Jay, ahhh good to know that you liked it too, yeah i read about the Trekkies feeling betrayed, oh well, they have tons of cultish episodes to rejoice, huh? so i am, as you, glad they made a more universal version of the film
ah Chio, no no soy tan fan pero si veía los episodios de las primeras series viejitas en Mexico, y NO nunca me gustó el capitán Kirk, el capitán que me gustaba era de otra series, de Viaje al Fondo del Mar, el capitán Crane, ese si me gustaba, y no el pinche Memelosky!!

Hey, I'm a Trekkie too! I miss the old Spock though; he looked more in depth than the younger version. I guess the new one will gain maturity over time...

good to know you are a Trekkie, so you have your downsides too, huh? ha ha just kidding, i respect hardcore fans, and yes! i get what you say about the older mister Spock, i usually have a hard time whenever a character gets 'upgraded' in films, tv shows, etc. but i did like the new mister Spock, he really looks like a Vulcan, and yes! hopefully he'll grow up to be as mature and cool as the older one ;) glad to see you around here
