i've been unfashionably late
always,
but it seems that so much more lately
i owe so many people [& myself]
late replies, comments, uploads,
posts, photos, outlooks, e-thoughts
and forwarded songs...
not to speak of
phone calls
and self-mind reminders
but not sure why
i got stuck in this abandoned place
that existed only before this wide world web
do you remember what you used to do
before you surfed the web?
alas! if after spending over 8 hours daily
behind one of this legendary machines
with keyboards and screens that suck,
share and shape our
attention and lives, i come home
to do the same again...
and yes, oh, i do!!
here, on a shadowy photo attempt
from not this past Sunday
but one before that one
i break the silence from this side
of the keyboard and salute
this world wide web...
here we go again!

Hmmm... you raised an interesting question there: how was life before the web surfing? Internet just simply changed everything in so many ways... I've witnessed and seen so many beautiful, incredible and only-in-my-dreams stuff thanks to the web, but also some of the most terribly disturbing sick and /or really stupid... And besides the level of accessibility to the world, there comes the counterpart: it makes you addicted to it! And with addiction comes the amount of time spent "doing it"... it really sucks to be honest, specially when you find out all the things that happens 'out there' while the screen keeps sucking your life and your muscles get atrophied...
also, I guess life had a bit more mystery and romanticism before...
hola mister Al, so good to read this comment of yours, and surely YOU made this internet question an interesting point too, love your comment... and yes, i debate myself lately over the time spent online too, not 'cause i am not addicted to it myself, but almost by chance other 'responsibilities' at home, like the every night cooking and cleaning, etc. have called me away from it (also the fan of my computer that's not working right and makes this awful noise while working...), and that's when i started realizing how many hours i spent at home before in the internet, and as you mentioned, it all has been on the most informative side of the spectrum, and thanks to this media i have access and contact still with dearest friends like you! i've also gotten to meet wonderful people that without the internet, yes, as you said only-in-dreams, i'd thought of meeting
so i guess at the end of the day, the internet is just like any other human invention, like the Industrial Revolution at the beginning of the century, it brings a lot knowledge and 'development', advance and charm, also for me is like an online encyclopedia, i find myself "Google-ing" all the time answers to problems that i forgot before the net how i used to solve... i guess before i chatted more with friends for opinions what i know search on the web... but as wonderful as it all sounds surely the web it carries along some or many disasters in itself too! yes the life outside, the 'real' contact with humans, the way of interacting 'in person'... and yes!! i totally agree with you, life before the web was more mysterious and romantic, but now that is here, well, we cannot deny it, huh?
