home-made cappuccino

& since i am already chronologizing
(one gotta chronologize the stupidity now & then)
here this photo of my Monday morning cappuccino!

I make these cappuccinos with the help
of my stove-top espresso machine here

1. i heat milk in a pot
2. before it starts boiling, i reduce the heat & blend while heating with old-fashioned hand blender, for about 1 minute
3. serve some milk & with a spoon some foam into a cup
4. slowly pour a shot (or more heh heh heh) of the espresso, wait until it separates in 2 layers...

oh! i didn't have a transparent mug before!
so i've been drinking these cappuccinos for a while
but didn't know how they look!

until i got this mug for $1.99
my cappuccinos got the double layer going on!
nice!
oh well &
5. sprinkle some grounded cinnamon on top, for the *starbucks* effect

mmm, can't wait to be tomorrow morning! to wake up myself to one of these

Nice, Bere. It looks good. :-) Better than SB, maybe. We also bought a coffee machine, Senseo. Actually Alex bought for me because I sometimes need coffee to study a lot, especially pinche report for Inorganic chem lab. You are welcome to come here to have our coffee too.

Is that a piece of bread behind??? Nice breakfast. Though I don't like bread and coffee so much and still love typical Japanese breakfast, you can invite me to your place for a Bere special coffee and bread. Or I will bake bread for you if you invite me for that coffee. hehe

Bonjour Berenice,

So you add cinnamon. Don't know what you mean by "starbucks effect" but the recepee looks enticing.

(Happy misspelling)

We are having a Cappucino nearly every day. But the sad truth is it comes out of a little plastic bag and we are adding some cocoa powder, normally used for a drink of hot chocolate.

Tomorrow we'll try the cinammon (if it is on the premises).

ahhh hola herr Georg, glad you liked the Cappuccino recipe, i haven't made any cappuccino's lately 'cause it's too hot! but i do drink Café con Leche (coffee with 2% milk) every morning

and hey! no shame on packet Cappuccinos, sure! the home-made ones are 'better' since they have any preservatives added, but Nestle does make some very good ones that come in powder... funny 'cause in Mexico we have those packets of Cappuccino, from Nestle that i cannot find in the US!

as for the Starbucks effect, was sort of a joke, since MY cappuccino got to look "pretty" as if it was made on a fancy coffee shop, but to confess, not ALL my home-made cappuccinos always look pretty, sometimes the foam is hard to shape or the coffee blends too fast with the milk and you dont' get the 'separation' of colors effect, but this time, it came out nice!

so Kaffee-Prost herr Georg hope you and Señora Elisabeth enjoy your cappuccinos

@dear Lisa, oh i bet you want a coffee now, huh? but you can't still drink caffeine 'cause of feeding Saskia :( hope we can drink a coffee once she grows a little more, from your Senseo machine :)
