Monday's gray & House's blue

clouds of steel &
mild's the rain

this Monday's gray!

fits the mood for
this House of Leaves
to read again

House of Leaves
Mark Z. Danielewski
an old review

re-reading this claustrophobic book

a haunted house's story
horror enclosed on the lay out
the word House always in blue
and other rather experimental fiction
examples of layout, typography,
and footnotes, a whole different narrative
gives you a second novel here
some photo-examples of the book

the cover, smaller than the rest of the book

not all the book has this lay-out but was the story
goes deeper, so the formatting

photos, polaroids, drawings, letter, and poems
complete the book, various Appendixes and an Index too

diagonal printing

and then more clastrophobia on semi-used pages
with XXX's and some with only 1 word...

if you like experimental fiction, give it a try
the story is good...

hmm, interesting layout(s) + type.

I'll have to locate the book at the library or borders .. so I can physically see it.

Hola Berenice,

What about reading something funny. I strongly advice a book from PG Wodehouse, would do you a world of good.

Those Jeeves stories or "Psmith in the city". The latter is how Psmith starts "working" in a London City bank and drives everybody nutty, especially the director.

Experimental literature: seems to me a bit like leading an experimental life.

Cheers Berenice,
Georg

Oh Frau Bere!
All your links, which are tagged with "haunted" don't work!
(Sorry for my bad "American")

hola dear friends

@Linda, yeah i am sure you'll find a copy at Border's, even if you don't buy it, do take a look at it, very interesting lay-out, photos, sketches, the book came out in 2000 (?) and it was rather innovative then...

@Herr Georg, thank you for the suggestions Herr Georg, i haven't read any PG Wodehouse books, thanks for the name, i do like funny literature, don't think i am so serious and creepy all the time... for example i love and have read many books by the American David Sedaris, Me Talk Pretty One Day, is one of my favorite books of him, give it a try too! but sadly i don't have time to review all the books i've read or am reading here :(

@Herr Thilolitototo!! yeah the word HOUSE i left it in blue as the books demands, but they are not really links... as you can see :) it' was a bad trick ;) vielen Dank herr Thilolito, hope the Ghost town is treating you nicely!
