The church bells

Monday, afternoon.

I can walk in San Diego, North Park.

There are still church bells, marking the hour.

1 p.m.

Reminiscence and a bit of joy (self-smile)

*Aaaand I am writing again on this blog (another little self-smile)

Tik Tok Frau Kitty

 Tik Tok Tik Tok

Seated at my office at work

Where I don’t come often anymore

Once a week, or so

The pandemic and so on

Working from home…

And the life, the life, it goes on

But for many, it stopped

It stopped for my beloved Frau Kitty

13 years ago, she came to my door

And she stayed, and I loved her so much

And for many more, the Covid patients,

And the accidents on the roads

One my bosses, this lady I had work for 18 years or so

Collapsed and her life hangs on the hands of destiny or God

Tik Tok Tik Tok

life goes on

but for many, don’t

Time is what never stops

It passes, all we can count on

Live while possible

While your clock still goes

the length of the days

i wish the days were longer
not like in the summer
but like 15 hours longer
making them each 27 hours long

i wish i had to work only 1/4 of that time
and have the rest of the day free
to stare at the clouds, and their capricious shapes
i wish i had 3 hours each morning to make breakfast
to slowly drink café

i wish i could play from 5 to 6 hours with each cat
every day & i wish to embrace a long book
without worrying about this time i waste

i wish to go for a 248 mile walk
without interruptions nor shortness of breath

i wish my life was long
not 70 years or so but
i wish i could live to a 300
with no sickness and no remorse

for the nights
i wish them to still be short
full of colorful dreams and not waking up
by asthma attacks or nightmares or burglars
or sirens of cops or firemen or choppers above

i wish my days were long enough
but sadly, they are not

the bells of the St. Didacus catholic church

for a moment or two
the sun touched my soul
the bells of the St. Didacus church tolled on the distance
two four five six times, and then stopped
the clocks at my home are always fast 3, 5
ten minutes or so
but my lifetime is not
every time i hear those bells ringing
at the dawn or the dusk
i remember there’s god time who measures it all
my tragedies, my sorrows, and my occasions of joy

life has been strangely unexpected
a surprise every day unfolds
to the simple eyes it all seems the same
yet it is not
because some days the leaves fall
some other days ones, not
the loving blinking of my beige big cat
or the cuddle of the little one
do change one’s soul
like the stroke of the sunbeam
through a chest that is cold
& now this black cat
homeless and alone
comes and out of the blue
& near to me, decides to curl up

the birds that i feed leave a mess
but for me as today, as 6pm
the mess is pure joy
is life, and as long we all are breathing
there’s hope, there’s love

a Friday evening with cats
cold weather but sun
a book a computer a tea
the church distant clock’s song
two three four five six
and it’s done
is this how i was supposed to be when i grew old?
who is this adult who types?
and smiles and cries and worries about cats and birds and loves them all?
guess i never asked myself before
and this is how i turned out
who i have become
while the bells of St. Didacus
keep tolling remote

from two Sundays ago, an outdated belated post

i've been unfashionably late
always,
but it seems that so much more lately

i owe so many people [& myself]
late replies, comments, uploads,
posts, photos, outlooks, e-thoughts
and forwarded songs...
not to speak of
phone calls
and self-mind reminders

but not sure why
i got stuck in this abandoned place
that existed only before this wide world web

do you remember what you used to do
before you surfed the web?

alas! if after spending over 8 hours daily
behind one of this legendary machines
with keyboards and screens that suck,
share and shape our
attention and lives, i come home
to do the same again...

and yes, oh, i do!!
here, on a shadowy photo attempt
from not this past Sunday
but one before that one
i break the silence from this side
of the keyboard and salute
this world wide web...

here we go again!
sorry, but yes, we're late

a week in the life of a little flower

little flower on March 7th, 10.20am
[noticed the this-morning fresh-opened petals]

little flower on March 13th, 8.21 AM
[blooming in all her splendor]

little flower on March 15th, 12.36 PM
[last photo taken at the sight of her imminent death]

“To create a little flower is the labour of ages.”

the day time broke

today my time broke
just like that

i came home after 9, 10, 12? hours
of being away and this home
of home smells no more

checked my arm time
broken!

i have never broken a watch before
is this a signal?

a stop to all calling
a start-all-over note?

a spiritual rewind

time
stop
breaks
broken

signals?
time to buy back my soul

i feel like one of paul auster characters
those that disappear and tell no families
no friends where they go...
where they hide their miseries and their songs...

cutting umbilical, and of any sort, cords
i felt his beating on my arm
still soft and still strong

maybe like my dead watch
today a new time
for a new life
i shall re-call

this time of mine
this time of no life
today
out of the blue,
broke

am Telefon

sometimes
it is fun
to leave cheerful messages
at your dear friend's phone
heh heh heh

this photo, from a couple of weeks ago
can't believe it is already april!
time flies these days
as life, in sun & smiles & spring beginnings,
day by day, magically goes
