No posts since May

I have abandoned my blog
no more!
We’re turning the entire planet into a meat factory. Nearly 60% of the world's agricultural land is used for beef production. We are killing ALL the wildlife to make room for the cows, chickens, and pigs, we kill and eat. While leaving the other HALF of the world hungry.

Sudan starving while Americans are dying from being too fat

Sudan’s deadly FAMINE, while 80% of crops in the USA go to feed farmed animals for Americans eating chickens and burgers. Supporting the Animal Agriculture industry while others starve is a crime.

If you STOP eating animals, those crops can bake 2 loafs of bread DAILY for ALL the WORLD population, but we are SELFISH and criminals towards humans and animals alike. Eating Meat is destroying the planet and creating the worst inequality in our planet.

Hurricane Patricia, Global Warming, Animal Agriculture and Man-made Climate Change

A letter (e-mail) to my co-workers:

All this talk about hurricane Patricia being the strongest recorded in history adds to the concern of  animal welfare, human welfare, and the future of our planet…
“Scientists have linked the global ocean temperature departures from average to manmade global warming, in addition to El Niño.”

On manmade global warming and climate change: The meat industry (chickens, pigs, cows, dairy, eggs) is number 1 cause of global warming, 51% of greenhouse emissions are coming from animal agriculture. http://www.cowspiracy.com/facts/

“Livestock and their byproducts account for at least 32,000 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year, or 51% of all worldwide greenhouse gas emissions.”

This is more than all transportation: planes, trains, cars, COMBINED.

Goodland, R Anhang, J. “Livestock and Climate Change: What if the key actors in climate change were pigs, chickens and cows?”

Every minute, 7 million pounds of excrement are produced by animals raised for food in the US.
This doesn’t include the animals raised outside of USDA jurisdiction or in backyards, or the billions of fish raised in aquaculture settings in the US.
All that excrement is polluting our rivers and creating ocean dead zones. There is a huge problem in North Carolina with hogs and manure.

It is not just about the ‘meat’ or animals we eat, but the water needed to grow the grains they eat, the antibiotics we feed them (70% of all the antibiotics sold in the US are administer to farmed animals) and all the waste the produce that has ‘nowhere’ to go, the energy needed to run slaughterhouses, transportation, freezing of the corpses, etc. etc. etc. Beans and broccoli come from farm to fridge to table, and don’t poop, plant-based protein is more readily and easily digested by our bodies too.

I have read some of Chris Hedges work, I didn’t know he is a vegan:
"I'm a vegan, and I'm a vegan because the animal agriculture industry maybe surpasses the fossil fuel industry in terms of destroying the planet, and you can wake up tomorrow and be a vegan." (don’t have to join Greenpeace and leave your job to fight the fracking industry or Exxon) On California: "And you're enduring this drought. It takes 1,000 gallons of water to make one gallon of milk [source: Water Footprint Network]. And milk's not even good for you. It's made for cows, it's not made for humans. It's made for baby cows. Who we kill."
– Harvard-educated journalist, best-selling author, professor, Amnesty International Global Award for Human Rights Journalism recipient, and member of the team of reporters at The New York Times awarded a Pulitzer Prize in 2002 for the paper’s coverage of global terrorism Chris Hedges of Truthdig

World Day for Farmed Animals

Farmed Animals, the ones we eat,
live horrible lives and die horrible deaths
October 2nd is International World Farmed Day
and FARM Farm Animals Rights Movement
organizes the event Fast Against Slaughter
in solidarity to the innocent animals who
die horribly to the hands of humans.

Why fast? Because farmed animals,
on their way to the slaughterhouses
are denied to drink water or eat any food,
for 24 hrs and up to 3 to 5 days!

The animals you eat, have starved
and had being thirsty and horrified!

So please, stop eating animals
and pledge to Fast Against Slaughter
so you can understand how food comes to your plate.

Learn compassion. Stop Eating Animals. Be Vegan.

Save Water, Eat Plants!

I am proud and thankful to be part of the Truth or Drought team
I design many of the graphics, the leaflets and lawn signs

lawn sign design, so many people in California got our signs!
I am so humbled and thankful for all the people displaying our lawn sing on the front yards!
I do this as a volunteer on my free time,
not that I have much as I work full time as a graphic designer
but since I became an activist for the animals
I truly enjoy working on graphics or talking to people
about not eating animals, or using them on any abusive way
or going to protests...
just as the other members or Truth or Drought
we all volunteer our 'free' time...
we are a small group (mainly 3 people, lately 2 others are helping too)
we created this group to open people's eyes
to the fact that animal agriculture is causing the
devastating water shortages in California (and the planet)
All of our research is fully sourced by scientific research!
Here the latest graphic I created under Lorelei Plotczyk's supervision
and her superb research work. She writes and researches all the
graphics for T or D. I only make them a visual reality.

It is plain and simple: We (the entire planet) are running out of water. Animal agriculture uses a LOT of water and creates all sort of environmental problems, and needless cruelty & suffering, for both animals & humans. We can eat the plant protein directly and save water, stop the suffering, and heal our planet. Nowadays you can find vegan hamburgers in every supermarket, they taste better than the 'real' thing too and are healthier, you can find chicken-less chicken, all sorts of non-dairy cheeses, you can find cow milk substitutes (or make your own), you can find vegan cakes, cupcakes, donuts, pies, pancakes, etc. etc. etc. So if you eat animals is only because you are OK with violence, cruelty and destroying the planet, see? Meat obsession, Milk obsession

"We are devastating our health, our planet...
with our suicidal obsession with animal protein."
"Animal agriculture, including dairy (and all dairy),
is destroying our planet."
Fight climate change, go vegan!

dairy cows

Haunting words & photography from
Tamara Kenneally
on Dairy Cows
(yes, milk, cheese, butter)
With their engorged udders and empty stomachs, they ambled towards us in hope. In hope of food. In hope of help.

With their engorged udders and empty stomachs,
they ambled towards us in hope.
In hope of food.
In hope of help.
Once an animal gets to an abattoir,
as these dairy cows were,
there is very rarely a way out.

This is the furthest paddock away from
the actually abattoir building.

Over 700 dairy cows and unwanted cattle
are slaughtered daily here.
They are turned into hamburger meat.
If you are in America and ate a Burger King burger today,
these are the girls you probably ate.

Cows are not magic milk machines.
They must be impregnated to produce milk.
The thought of an entire industry based on
the lactation of females makes me shudder.

It's not just wrong, it's just plain creepy.
There was no way out for these beautiful girls.
Their cries of helplessness and fear were palpable.
They waited surrounded by a sense of doom.
As we walked away in tears,
all we could hope for was that their deaths be quick
and soon.
The unwanted. The unprofitable. Here is where they stand at the end of the line. After they've produced milk for human consumption and offspring for the meat industry, they are no longer profitable.

Horse Races and Rodeos

Two protests today, horse races & bull riders,
what is this fixation with grown men
wanting to ride abused animals?
Both are millionaire industries too.
There is something very wrong with humans,
they don't questions themselves why?
They just do their abusing...
At the Del Mar Race track was so disappointing to
see all these cute women all dressed up with hats,
trying to be 'cool', how cool & hip is to
dress up to go see drugged abused horses dying on a race track?
Humans are just too close to see the cruelty of their ways.
Just question every thing you do,
every 'tradition' you will be amazed by your answers.

People's Climate March San Diego

It was a great to see so many San Diegans
concerned about the environment yesterday
#ClimateMarchSD #ClimateMarch

And let's not forget that we can fight global warming
and climate change with our forks 3 times a day!

Animal agriculture causes 51% of greenhouse emissions.

Half of ALL the water used in the US goes to raise animals for food.

The UN has asked many times governments to promote
a diet free of meat and diary, please do your part!
It is as easy as choosing a veggie burger over a beef or chicken one!

More mindbogglingly facts about animal agriculture & our planet

Some of the posters me & my friends made yesterday for the March!
