Besuch der Bücherei
Visit to the library
visita a la Biblioteca

hier\here\aquí

i read Spring Snow in 2005
my friend Lisa gave it to me
it is part of Yukio Mishima's tetralogy
The Sea of Fertility
today, after 3 year, i picked up
at the library
the volume 2...
Runaway Horses

Mishima writes some beautiful passages
and profound characters that remind you
of what serious literature is for

Hallo Bere,

Here in my neighborhood lives a couple that had been in Japan for 20/30 years. I have asked them if they have a copy of one of Mishima's books.

Meanwhile, do you happen to know "The Manuscript found in Saragossa" from the Polish count Jan Potocki? It's kind of phantastic, have a look at Wiki if you are interested.
I loved this book but it is heavy going. Thrilling stories but in the midst of one story there are people who tell other stories and so on. You need a good memory or read it marathon style because in the middle of the book you have about two dozen stories running side by side.

oh Georg

i hope they have either Spring Snow (the only complete Mishima novel i have read) or Death in Midsummer, this is a collection of short stories! these are the only readings i have done of Mishima's literature but they have both captivated me! the cleanliness of the style and the depiction of the characters are flawless... please let me know if you got to read any of his works!

and thanks a lot for the "The Manuscript found in Saragossa" recommendation, i haven't heard from that book before, i will google it now... but i do love intricate stories and the stories within the stories part sounds great! i will check it out for sure

now the stories within stories remind me of a book i read a while ago "The Ghost Writer" by John Harwood, the main story on the book is good but not great yet there are many tales 'embedded' in the reading and each one of these shorter stories are great! maybe you will find it entertaining too!

und haben Sie ein guter Tag
