the 80th Oscars
the only movie i have seen so far
out of 5 nominated for Oscar
for the best picture is
No Country for Old Men
here an earlier review
and no wonder i went to watch it
the day it came out...
a combination of the always-witty Coen brothers
with extraordinary talented
spanish actor Javier Bardem
cannot go wrong
so tonight, it won
best director(s) - two in this case
best picture
and best secondary actor
Javier Bardem
2 great personal surprises
were
Tilda Swinton
for best supporting actress
i know her very well since she's the leading actress
of one bizarre film i love
Orlando
i am really curious about
La Vie en Rose
of the life of Edith Piaf
specially since this lovely french actress
Marion Cotillard
won the Oscar for best leading actress
a dusty evening
cleaning finally a little my house
while watching the Oscars on the TV
not bad ending for a rainy Sunday
now i have yet another 10 or 15 films
to watch
ah sigh! there's more movies than time...

La vie en rose: big great movie -must see... Orlando?? wow!great movie indeed! The Coen's? don't know why, but can't get their 'magnificence' yet -have watched Fargo, Big Lebowsky, Oh Brother..., and Intolerable Cruelty (ironic title because watching it was just like that for me, an intolerable cruelty; the only movie so far in which I've walked out of the theatre)... Lebowsky and Oh brother, good movies, but, but... I'll have to watch 'No country...', which sounds promising...
Best movie score? ONCE, huge movie, I knew it... Overrated? Juno, Jack Nicholson, that Bourne Ultimatum movie, and the whole Oscar thing...
hola Betiur!
sorry it took so loooong to reply
still sick and busy these days
hey! and somehow after reading your comment i agree with you on the Coen Hermanitos... yeah! i do like their movies, but after re-reading your list i realized that any of their movies are on my top 10 of films after all, not like Orlando for example...
but one thing i do admire of them, is their wittiness! probably the movies as a complete film aren't that great, but each movie has those sentences and great moments, specially the dark humored ones...
i think what i like the best of their films are those "quirky" sentences or moments of very obscure mood... and that after all for being "main stream" cinema they still compete with independent films...
and yep agree with you about the Oscars, they are a 'sold-out' institution for the most part, but i decided to include the event in this silly blog 'cause after all that's what i did Sunday, clean and watch the Oscars, but as usual my betiur agree with you... the Oscars aren't by far my standard to judge films... but still yeah yeah yeah watch No Country for Old Men, if nothing else, seeing Bardem in film worth it... and the lunatic character of Tommy Lee Jones is rather 'senile' too! enjoy! and cheers to Vancouver!
Bonjour Bere,
That's not the right place but there seems to be no email connection on your blog.
I wanted to tell you that your comment showed that you have a warm and understanding heart. You were the only person who commented about the essentials.
But I would not say so on my own blog; could have hurt the others, a little bit.
Thank you.
Georg
hi Georg
guten Morgen!
ach es tut mir Leid, und ja ich habe nicht... a link for my e-mail but good idea, i will include it soon!
and thanks for your great comment back Georg, and your kind words, when i read your post, i put myself in the place of the women going through the repression in Afghanistan and i guess that's why my opinion is more emotional oriented... sometimes sounds easy to comment about a situation but i guess the best 'guess' is to picture yourself in a matter like that to be able to understand a little the situation
and you made me laugh with your comment on your readers, and yes :) agree with you that one has to treat your online friends properly heh heh
haben Sie ein schönes Wochenende!
