So I am watching Game of Thrones too
The Battle of the Bastards...
and then the violence, ultra violence
heart races and beats...
and yes the story is excellent, the acting,
the writing, the production, the scenes...
but we are highly entertained with ultra violence
and this is what humanity watches every day
how it sieves into our lives?
the madness the stress the blood
the feelings the revenge the darkness
the primitive darkness
oh light come back in
let me hope again breath!

Merciful 2019
I wish you all a 2019 full of Mercy!
Have mercy for others, for all the sick and hurt humans and animals, and for yourself.
Try a peaceful approach to life, even to your enemies.
Try not to kill innocent beings for your food or clothing.
Be peaceful and kind, love is all we got.
Live vegan.
"The quality of mercy is not strained.
It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven
Upon the place beneath. It is twice blest:
It blesseth him that gives and him that takes."
~Portia in William Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice.

Age and activism
Please read this article by talented and passionate Marla Rose. My personal note: I think a lot of us have the idea of an activist being a young, unhappy, or somehow unadapted person to society, the typical young hippies, and troublemakers. I grew up as a “regular," content middle class person, but as I aged and discovered many of the social injustices that I was not aware of, like animal agriculture; I found out that middle-aged people like me, working professionals, homemakers, specialists, and plenty of ‘regular” every-day people who are over 40 years old are eager to change the world. I became a vegan for justice for animals and our planet at age 44, and an animal rights activist at age 45. The link again The Turn of a Phase: How Middle Aged (and Older) People are Redefining Aging and Activism, by Marla Rose.

Vegan outreach at colleges
Last Tuesday I spent some hours doing
Vegan Outreach at San Diego City College.
VO has a program, Adopt a College, to leaflet colleges since young people are more concerned about animals, their suffering, about being healthier too and also about the future of our planet (animal agriculture is one of the top reasons for global warming).
Vegan Outreach also a new program 10 weeks to Vegan, where people are helped to ditch an animal product each week, please enroll and start saving animals too!
It is a joy to volunteer for Vegan Outreach to help animals and our planet while educating younger generations.

The Vegan Witch Project
This Mexican Vegan Witch
would like to put a spell on humanity:
"Love each other & respect all animals"
"Don't eat the pigs, don't eat the goats,
Don't eat the chickens, or you will bawl!"

Racism, Sexism, & Speciesism
#Racism, #Sexism, & #Speciesism come from a dark place that only exists in the #human heart. Racism, Sexism, & Speciesism are based on the assumption of human superiority & lead to exploitation, disrespect, inequality, and even murder. Respect others who are different, look different, or belong to other species, sex, or race. Have hooves? Brown skin? Habla español? We all deserve the same treatment on this planet, animals, races, sexes, choice of sexes, love = respect. Live and let live!

PBS Nature
Nature | PBS is one of my favorite TV shows ever! This episode on Animal Reunions with the humans who took care of them will bring tears of joy.
Animals are amazing creatures, much more "civilized" than humans; they are all heart & emotion. We must learn from animals and we must protect them, not eat them, wear them and abuse them. Please be kind and respectful of all animals!
You can watch the entire episode here:

Moby's Porcelain gets Pawpproved by Literary Gato
Herr Gato's love for literature emerges, or in this case,
rests again. His known love for books favors now
the open, funny, and truly wonderful Moby's memoir
Porcelain.
Moby, the electronic musician, who I love and respect
not only for his music but for his vegan life, and mostly
because he is just a really really good human being.
One of my first electronic music albums was Moby's Ambient.
I still have my CD! All beat up, I exchanged it in Mexico City
at El Museo del Chopo, where Mexican goth kids used to NOT
buy music but exchange it. I still play it a lot.
Follow Herr Gato's recommendation and read Moby's Porcelain.
And get ALL his albums, you will smile, knowing that
there is people like Moby out there.

Books 1 of 7
I am doing a book "posting" on Facebook.
I feel so sad to have abandoned by blog and posting more on Facebook and Twitter.
So the least I can do is share this 7-day challenge of posting 7 books!
here goes Book 1:
Day 1 of my 7-day book challenge: Rayuela (Hopscotch) is a novel by Argentine writer Julio Cortázar. I was nominated by Donna Rauch to share 7 of my favorite books, no explanation. Each day post a book cover and nominate a fellow book lover to participate (if they want!). I accept that nomination and nominate Hermione Betts Cloney #books
